Jeddah (can be spelled like Jiddah, Jidda, Jedda, جدّة) is a city of Saudi Arabia that is located on the coast of Red Sea. Sometimes it is also called Bride of the Red Sea. It is major urban center of Western region of Saudia. It is second largest city after Riyadh (Saudi Arabian capital city) and largest city in Makkah province. There is a sea port also and it is largest in Red Sea. That makes Jeddah an important commercial city of Saudi Arabia.
Jeddah's airport is huge and busiest airport in the region because of Hajj (Pilgrimage) reception city. Almost all Hajj flights land in Jeddah airport and later on Hajjis (Pilgrims) are forwarded to Makkah and Madina cities to complete their ibadaat (worship).

Jeddah city hosts huge number of expatriate workers. Jeddah is hosting expatriates from all over the world, people from different nationalities live, work and enjoy their lives here. Majority of expatriates are Muslims because of their love for holy cities Makkah and Madina. Jeddah also attracts foreign workers because of job opportunities and huge number of vacancies.
Jeddah city is focusing on further developing capital investment in scientific and engineering leadership within Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and Middle East. Jeddah has been ranked No.4 in the Africa / Mid-East region in terms of innovation in 2009.
